I started playing golf in the summer of 2011 after a 20 year break from the game due to marriage and children (a hopeless combination). After several frustrating rounds of inconsistent golf at the Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club I decided to have a lesson which I booked at Dewstow Golf Club Driving Range last October with Tom Motley the resident pro at the club.
Tom immediately pointed out a few minor issues with my set up and finish and without having to make massive changes to my swing Tom gave me a basic drill to work on that has helped me strike the ball much straighter and more consistently. I have had a further four lessons with Tom over the winter months and my game has undoubtedly improved no end. I’m winning competitions and my handicap is on its way down.
What I particularly like about golf lessons with Tom is the use of the ‘Golfinc Branded Academy’ software that shows each element of your swing from set up to finish. Tom very cleverly puts together a beginning of lesson collection of images of my swing set next to my swing that incorporates all that Tom has taught me during the lesson which he later emails to me for further consideration.
I have been very impressed with Tom’s teaching style and methods. He has an extremely friendly and encouraging personality and he always leaves me feeling so much better about my golfing ability. I would have no hesitation in recommending Tom as a teacher of golf to anyone from a complete beginner to a very low handicapper. A fellow member of mine at the Rolls Golf Club in Monmouth (a 3 handicapper) booked a lesson with Tom on the back of my recommendation and has since told me that Tom is without doubt the best golfing coach he has ever worked with.
